The Internet of Things (IoT) is the paradigm that is revolutionizing the impact of digital solutions within the production, distribution and governance cycle of Small and Medium Enterprises.

The IoT solutions developed by Project360 are essentially based on the implementation of sensors, switches and actuators .

These devices, integrated within a CPU of variable size from a USB key to a shoe box, are able to transmit and receive data and information and enable "dialogue" with systems, vehicles and company resources in general.

The sensors make it possible to monitor business cycles in terms of performance and safety, possibly signaling anomalous situations and blocking the systems in the event of an emergency.

The analysis of the collected data is processed by the web platforms that use the data to offer contextual views on the phenomena and on the progress of the business processes involved and which can be used for forecasting models.

From the same platforms, it is also possible to control the switches and actuators and define the rules for the activation / deactivation of plants, devices and machinery, upon the occurrence of certain conditions detected by the sensors or according to pre-set rules, such as times and pre-defined assets.

1. IoT management cloud platforms

The most important cloud platforms allow you to manage and control the hardware components of IoT systems, offering the possibility to survey and query the individual sensors and gateways connected to the network. The particular needs related to operational areas, the different preferences on the methods of data processing (storage locally vs sharing in the cloud) and the functional customizations of IoT systems often require further development of the standard solutions offered by these platforms, implying developments and system integration through the SDKs and APIs provided by the platforms themselves.

2. Rules engines

Processes and rules are the basis of any expert system oriented towards automation and functional efficiency. Rule engines are web environments through which business processes can be replicated and coded according to an international standard notation (BPMN 2.0). The processes thus codified are therefore implementable, in XML meta-language format, within all systems and platforms suitable for integration and used within the IoT solution. 

3. Artificial intelligence and machine learning

The implementation of Artificial Intelligence within a complete IoT solution, where necessary, the automation needs that cannot be satisfied by the rules engines. Rules, by definition, are predefined and tend to avoid / limit exceptions. However, in contexts and domains where exceptions can multiply, the rules should also multiply at the same time. It is in these cases that the most appropriate solutions are revealed that manage exceptions through Artificial Intelligence and self-learning based on the analysis of the historical series of the collected data.

4. Data security and certification infrastructure

Ensuring the security of systems, infrastructures and data may require the implementation of advanced technologies, based on the criticality and importance of the processes managed. In other contexts, the validation and absolute truthfulness of the data is necessary in order to assign the right value to the goods, plants or transactions recorded. In addition to using the most suitable third-party solutions for cybersecurity, we develop solutions based on BlockChain technology, which will increasingly establish itself as the definitive infrastructure for system security.

5. Hardware components of sensors and mechatronics

Concentrators and sensor and mechatronics components are the devices used in the field to fully exploit the potential of IoT solutions. We are able to implement proprietary or open hardware components, in standard versions and / or assembled with customized components based on customer needs (OEM).

6. Data transmission networks and protocols

The different networks and data transmission standards are used according to the needs and requirements of the customer and based on the effective possibility of using them. It is important to take into account variables such as the coverage of the available data network, the volume and frequency of data transmission and energy consumption, if the IoT devices are battery powered.
